Museum-reserve "Homeland of V. I. Lenin"

Founded in 1984. Occupies an area of ​​one hundred and seventy hectares. It was created in order to recreate Simbirsk at the turn of the last century and before last. The complex includes sixteen museums about culture, history, architecture, a children's center and exhibition halls. The reserve's programs are extensive and include circles, workshops, sightseeing tours, quests and much more. Suitable for both children and adults.

Chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on Nikolskaya Gora

Its history began in 1552. The icon, on the site of the appearance of which the chapel was built, began to be considered miraculous. By 1932, the rarity was lost, which was also overgrown with rumors and legends. However, the parishioners found a replacement for her. The number of pilgrims to Nikolskaya Gora is growing every year. Ulyanovsk Museum-Memorial of V. Lenin

Completed in 1970. This was preceded by a real epic: from agreeing on details to searching for documents about the place of Lenin's birth. The basis of the memorial was the Lenin Museum. There is also a universal hall for film screenings and events, as well as a house of political education. The usable area includes other premises for different purposes. The area around is also part of the memorial.

Arbuginskaya mountain

On the Volga coast, it is difficult to find a better observation point with an excellent panoramic view. The river in this place is especially beautiful, as it makes a turn. Arbuginskaya Mountain has several peaks, some of them are quite difficult to climb. There is a specially designated parking area nearby: you can conveniently put up a tent and make a fire. Arsk temple complex

Built in 1649. It is the oldest in the region. The first church was originally wooden, and in the Catherine's era a stone structure appeared. There is a natural spring with healing water nearby. After the revolution, the church was closed, and in the 2000s they began to restore it. New temple and chapel appeared, the complex began to grow. The main rarity is the miraculous icon.

Beloe Lake (Nikolaevsky District)

It has many features. It is self-cleaning. Belongs to the monuments of the Ice Age. Located at an altitude of over two hundred and seventy meters. The water is clean and clear. In clear weather during the day, the bottom is visible from a distance of almost a meter. Some parts of the coast are swampy. The nature here is also different from the usual one: it is more typical for northern latitudes. In the early 10s of this century, the lake began to shallow.

Sengileevskie mountains

In 2017 they became a national park. The area exceeds forty-three thousand hectares. The vegetation is dominated by birches, and the conifers are dominated by pines. There are about eighty species of mushrooms. The fauna is also vast: from birds that fly here to fish found in water bodies. They began to protect the territory to restore the flora and prevent excessive human influence on the environment.

Civil Aviation History Museum

Located in Ulyanovsk. In terms of the area occupied and the number of exhibits, it is the largest museum in Russia with such a theme. In total, there are four halls on the territory, but the aircraft themselves are mostly under the open sky. They arrived here mainly on their own and stood at an eternal stop. Among the rarities, there are truly unique ones. Military and civilian planes stand side by side.

Temple of Dmitry Solunsky (Bazaar Syzgan)

Consecrated in 1975. From the beginning of construction to the present day, the temple is surrounded by legends. It was painted by different craftsmen inside and outside. Since the formation of the USSR and the flesh until 1988, it was closed for worship, later used as a warehouse. In the late 80s - early 90s of the last century, it was restored and opened the doors to parishioners.

Akshuat park-arboretum

The main task is to breed rare and exotic plant species. Any felling of the forest park zone, with the exception of sanitary, is strictly prohibited. Employees conduct educational work. There is a sports camp and specially designated picnic areas.

Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore

In one building, on different floors, there are two museums: local history and art. The first contains exhibits that tell the history of the region through rare documents, objects of the past, folk costumes and other values ​​and testimonies. The second has collected collections of paintings by Western European masters of different centuries, works by Russian masters, antique ceramics and so on. There is a hall for temporary exhibitions.

Palace of Books

The library occupies two buildings at once. The funds are vast, available for acquaintance and study. Fiction and scientific literature are separated, and in general, sorting is carried out in each segment. The Book Palace participates in local and international thematic events and hosts guests. The library keeps up with the times: there is an electronic archive, a modern reference bureau, and so on.

Historical and Memorial Center-Museum of I.A.Goncharov

The year of opening - 2012. Previously, there was a Goncharov Museum, but it was smaller in size and the funds were less extensive, but it was this institution that became the basis for the center. Visitors are invited to the house where the writer grew up. The furnishings have been recreated to match the interiors of the time. Some of Goncharov's things, his manuscripts and letters were brought. In addition to the exhibition, there are halls for receptions and events inside.

Skripinsky Kuchury

It is recognized as a landscape monument of nature. Founded in 2004 and has regional status. Located near the village of the same name. The area is over two hundred hectares. In this area, it is impossible not only to cut down trees, but also to pick berries or drive livestock. The surface is more typical of the early periods of history and is well preserved, which is why it is so valuable. A rare species of fern also grows here.

Museum "Yazykov Manor"

It is located in the Karsun region. The outbuildings are quite well preserved, but the master's house burned down after the revolution. The authorities of the region are planning its complete restoration based on photographs and memories of contemporaries. In the middle of the 19th century, the creative intelligentsia gathered here, writers especially liked to come. Among the guests one could meet Pushkin, Davydov, Kireevsky.

Undorovsky paleontological museum

Founded in 1990. Located in the village of the same name. The collection of fossil marine invertebrates and reptiles is the largest in the Volga region. Nearby is the Gorodishchensky open pit - a geological natural monument.The funds are so impressive in number that it is necessary to develop a new exposition (exhibit as many as possible) and find a new building larger than the current one in area.

Ulyanovsk Regional Puppet Theater

It was created in 1944, in 2007 it was named after Valentina Leontyeva. The repertoire is extensive, some performances go on for decades, others come out to certain events. Attendance at the theater is good, despite the narrow and rather exotic specialization. The performances are interesting not only for children, but also for adults. Prominent artists of the genre worked and are working in the corpse at different times.

Monument to M.N. Karamzin

Opened in 1845. Made in the style of classicism. Its height is eight and a half meters. The main part of the exhibition is the statue of Clio, the muse of history. She holds in one hand the main work of Karamzin "History of the Russian State", and in the other a trumpet to tell everyone about the glorious past of the great country. The pedestal on which she stands is decorated with high reliefs from different sides.

Spaso-Ascension Cathedral

Made in white and blue colors with traditional golden domes. Built in the Baroque style. The construction was carried out intermittently, the deadlines were constantly postponed. The cathedral was opened in 2015. The patriarch was present at the ceremony. However, the first services were held even earlier, immediately after the consecration in 2014, as soon as the internal work was completed.

Monument to Dmitry Razumovsky

Opened in 2007 and dedicated to the hero - FSB lieutenant colonel, who died saving children in Beslan. Cast in bronze. The composition is a statue of Razumovsky captured in motion. He carries the child in his arms, carrying him out of the captured building. In the background, he has a dark circle divided into two parts. A monument was erected in front of the Pedagogical University.

Monument "Parting"

Installed in Inza in 1989. Located on the territory of the park behind the railway station. The place was not chosen by chance and is directly related to the theme of the composition. A soldier with a rifle over his shoulder goes to the front. His wife in shawls and his barefoot son, who are standing a little further behind a small fence knocked down from twigs, are watching him. This is exactly what has happened since the Second World War, to which the monument is dedicated.

Singing fountain in Ulyanovsk

Opened in the city center. Works in the summer. During the day it is a source of freshness in the square, but not as beautiful as in the evening. It is at dusk that the real show begins. Children especially love the fountain. The musical accompaniment is selected appropriate - nothing annoying among the compositions - only classics and hits.

Resurrection Necropolis

Opened in 1874 and became the city's new cemetery. Here are the graves of prominent people of the city: from artists to scientists and researchers. In addition, some of those who died in hospitals and not far from the city during the Second World War were brought here. Closed in 1972. It has become an important historical part of the urban landscape, and therefore received the name Resurrection Necropolis.

Yulovsky pond

On the river of the same name, about a hundred years ago, a dam was organized, not far from the mill standing on the bank. In its modern form, the pond looks more like a lake with clean water, but it has now become dirtier: there is a children's sanatorium nearby. Its total area is about sixty-five hectares. The depth is not uniform: there is shallow water, but in some places up to the bottom about twenty meters. The nature here is picturesque and attracts both locals and tourists.

Selishcheva Balka

A natural monument with wild and bright flowers growing there. Located in the Radishchevsky district. You need to come here at a certain time of the year - at the time of flowering, and preferably in good weather. This is the only way to appreciate the local beauty and take first-class photographs for memory. The fields are dotted with irises of various colors, tulips, peonies and other species. You can't think of a better background.

Zhadovsky Monastery

Founded at the end of the 17th century. Its main rarity is the icon, which is credited with miraculous deeds. There is a spring nearby, the waters of which supposedly help to heal ailments. Like many monasteries, the monastery was closed in the 1920s. The restoration began only in 1996. The complex is expanding, a subsidiary farm has appeared, a new refectory. The main temple has also gone through restoration.

Archangel Michael Monastery (Komarovka)

Founded in 1994. The nunnery began to be built around the church of the Archangel Michael. It has a difficult history: it was opened shortly before the revolution and did not work for its intended purpose for long. When it was decided to restore it in the 90s, the question of expediency came up. It was the idea of ​​building a monastery nearby that led to a positive verdict.

Monument to the letter "Yo"

Installed in 2005. Its height is slightly more than two meters. It represents a plate on which the letter "E" is depicted. It was modified in the process of work. The main disagreements were related to the shape of the slab: it had to be either straight or more reminiscent of a triangular prism. As a result, we settled on the second option.

Canadian tower

It is located in the village of the same name at a short distance from the Syzranka bank. Its height is about twenty meters. At the time of construction in the 17th century it was used as a watchdog. Now it is an architectural monument, and it is partially preserved. The northern side has suffered especially from natural causes. Inside there are traces of beams, that is, there were probably overlaps here. No restoration is planned.

Presidential bridge

Opened in 2009. Crosses the Volga. The bridge is almost thirteen kilometers long and twenty-five meters wide. It is a strategic site. Relieved other roads, reduced travel time in several directions. During construction, modern technologies were applied, therefore it is believed that the operation of the bridge will increase without the need for repairs. You can ride a bike. Stops are prohibited.
