Having been here, at least once comes back here again. They again want to see places of nature untouched by civilization with clean, healthy air, filled with the smell of herbs.

Lake Aya.

One of the most beautiful lakes in Altai is located near the village of the same name, between the villages of Altai and Gorno-Altai. In summer, the water warms up above twenty degrees. The lake is surrounded by green mountains. It lies between them, as if in a cradle and looks like an incomplete moon. Translated from Turkic, the name of the lake is translated as "moon". The area of the lake is nine hectares, and the shoreline of the lake stretches for almost one and a half thousand meters.

Like any landmark, the lake has a legend. If you believe her, then the moon Aya descended to the people, saving them from the villain. At the place of its descent, a lake was formed. Local residents often rest here. In the center of the reservoir, on the island, tourists put a gazebo of Love. Those who want to get to it by swimming. Tourists can go water skiing. They can be rented. They can also climb a mountain, "Devil's finger".

From above, admire the beautiful view of the river valley, the solemn panorama of the Altai Territory. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountainous nature with caves, with pine forests located on the left bank of the river. For better protection of the unique nature, the Aya Natural Park was founded. It is designed to improve the ecology of the lake.

Lake Julukul.

Lake Altai - Dzhulukul, it is also called the Summer Lake. It is almost as large as Taletskoye Lake and the largest lake in the southeast of Altai. The lake is located on the Chulyshman plateau, at an altitude of over two kilometers above sea level. The lake is more than ten kilometers long. There are islands on the lake. There are more than two hundred and fifty small reservoirs near the lake.

Many birds nest on Dzhulukul, especially in summer. Grayling is found in the lake. Apparently it feeds on plankton. The lake is surrounded by tundra and steppe. Birches and grasses, tundra and steppe animals grow. The Chulyshman River flows out of the lake.

Karakol lakes.

The lakes consist of seven lakes. The river Tura begins there. The highest lake is over two kilometers, and the lowest is 1820 meters. The deepest place in the lake is ten meters. There are many cedars and larches growing near the lakes. Glades stretch with a variety of medicinal herbs. These lakes in Altai were formed during the Ice Age.

They have had the status of a natural monument since February 1996. The area of the monument is five square kilometers. There are rocky spurs and cedar forests on the square.
The climate on the lakes is slightly different than in the Altai valleys. In summer, the air temperature is 10-11 8. This is 4-5 * less than below. And in winter it is warmer here than in the neighboring valleys by 3-4 *. In winter, the thickness of the snow is 80-110 cm. And there is no snow in the valleys.

There are about sixty species of animals in the area of Karakol lakes. Among the predatory animals there you can find sable, columnar, lynx.

The lakes are inhabited by birds that live in the forest and in the tundra. Grouse, wood grouse, partridges nest in the cedar forest. Rare birds also live: peregrine falcon, corncrake-dergach. Birds of prey occasionally fly in.

Mountain trees grow in the area of the lakes. These are Siberian pine, larch and fir. Alpine meadows stretch between the trees. There are also areas of tundra with a creeping birch and willow.

The Karakol lakes are often visited by tourists. But, this is a protected area. To set up tents near lakes, you need to ask permission from the staff. Most often, they receive such permission.

A tourist base "Karakol Lakes" was formed on the lakes. There tourists have the opportunity to spend the night in light houses.

Pass Katu-Yarik.

The pass is located on the section of the Ust-Ulagan-Balygcha road.

From the pass you can see a huge canyon. There are green rocks overgrown with lush greenery. On the opposite side, water falls from a height of hundreds of meters. A clear river flows below, which is blocked by difficult rapids. The road to the pass is cut at the edge of the mountain slope. The slope of the road is very steep. At the turn, there are places where you can wait out the oncoming car.

To see the lakes of Altai Mountains in photographs means to see nothing, every tourist must visit these places at least once in his life, I wish you a great and memorable vacation this summer, well, do not forget to share the article with your friends on social networks.
