Hong Kong Food Prices - 2021

Eating on a budget is unlikely to work, especially given the current ruble exchange rate. There are few street makers, but almost all of them are tested and licensed. They contain fish balls, egg tartlets and waffles (15 HKD), as well as dumplings (dumplings) and rice.

However, you should not be upset: although the prices for food in Hong Kong are high, it is possible for a budget traveler to survive. We recommend eating in Chinese and Indian eateries, they are quite cheap. We ate in them. Rice with chicken / duck - about 15-20 HKD, rice with pork and vegetables - about 40 HKD.

There are many fast food places in Hong Kong. Here is the cheapest McDonald's in the world! Tourists, in order to save money, eat there at least once a day. Big Mac - 17-20 HKD.

It is not too expensive to eat at food courts - for example, in Sogo. There, broth and rice with meat will cost about 30-40 HKD.

Another option for inexpensive food in Hong Kong is minimarkets (7/11, for example). There you can always buy ready-made food (semi-finished products, rice with meat), which will be heated in the microwave - for two, lunch will cost about 15-20 HKD. Tsingtao beer - around 12-15 HKD.

Prices for hotels and hostels in Hong Kong - 2021

First, decide which area of Hong Kong you want to live in. Hotels on the island are more expensive - this is where the famous skyscrapers are concentrated. On the mainland (Kowloon Peninsula) both hotels and food are cheaper. Some tourists note that they liked living on the island more, because it was from this island that Hong Kong began historically. Others write that it is better to stay in Kowloon closer to the Avenue of Stars - cheaper and more authentic. We lived in Kowloon and loved it. Where to live in Hong Kong for tourists >>

According to tourists, there are also dangerous areas in Hong Kong that are best avoided in the evenings - these are Wong Tai Sin and Sham Shui Po.

On a note: inexpensive hotels have all the necessary amenities (hot water, air conditioning, wi-fi), but the area of the room can be very small - up to 9 square meters. Therefore, if you are staying for a long time, choose a larger room.

How much does equipment cost in Hong Kong and where to buy it

Hong Kong is a shopaholic's paradise, but the prices are not encouraging. Tourists are advised to buy equipment, in particular, Apple products. For example, the latest iPhone model can be purchased for about 8-10 thousand rubles cheaper than in Russia (prices are about the same as in the USA). Experienced travelers advise to buy cheap "apple" products at the Mong Kok market (besides, you can also bargain).
