What to see in Barcelona and its surroundings on your own? What kind of excursion in Barcelona is a must-have? We continue our journey through the historical and architectural city, which we began in the last article.

Tourists, like the rest of the local population, start their day with breakfast. For budget travelers, breakfast here will be held in an outdoor cafe, where you can drink hot and freshly brewed coffee for 4 euros and taste a sandwich for about 3-5 euros.

For tourists with a fat wallet in a good hotel, breakfast will cost about 40 euros. Here you will be served a variety of light seafood and vegetable dishes, as well as fresh fruits and berries, and of course, cappuccino.

One of the free attractions in the city of Barcelona on today's trip is Gaudi's house and it is called Casa Mila. This house is located in the very center on Karolinas street and you can see it just by walking along this street. Casa Mila was built in such a way that you will not find a single corner in this architectural creation by Gaudí. We definitely recommend visiting this house, the interior of Casa Mila will surprise you as well as its appearance.

Casa Batlló is also close by and is another free attraction in Barcelona. Initially, it was an ordinary gray house, but after the restoration by Gaudí it became just a stunning architectural monument, which we will talk about in more detail in the next article about the sights of this place.

And of course, another creation of Gaudí, located in Barcelona, can be reached by metro for 1.50 euros - this is the Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia. The entrance ticket to this creation by Gaudí costs 12 euros per person and the queue is huge as always, but we do not advise you to spend money on a tour now, since you will not see anything other than construction waste and enclosed spaces.

For tourists who like to shop, we recommend taking a walk along Mallorca's street. Here, for your taste and budget, there are many boutiques with things and souvenirs. In some expensive boutiques, you will find original items from world fashion designers. For example, in the Dolce @ Gabbana boutique you will be fully dressed for 1,500 euros, of which a shirt costs 350 euros, a belt for trousers 70 euros, trousers 450 euros, a jacket 400 euros.

If you are going on vacation to the city of Barcelona in September, then you will definitely get to the Le Mercay holiday, which takes place on September 24. The roots of the Le Mercay holiday go back to 1871, when a horde of locusts attacked the city, which they managed to expel only with the help of the icon of the Holy Mother of God. From that day on, the Holy Mother of God became the patroness of the city of Barcelona.

On this holiday, you will see a huge number of dancing people, plunge into the national rhythm of music and see huge dolls made of papier-mâché. As a rule, this holiday takes place in Plaza Catalunya and goes to the very center of the city, where it is celebrated all night long.

What can be seen from the amazing? If you are a supporter of bullfighting, then you should definitely go to this show, which can also be seen in the city of Barcelona. This performance takes place at 9 Porta Street, where a special stadium is located. The cost of the entrance ticket, depending on the seat, is 80-200 euros per ticket. But it is worth noting that in 2014 bullfighting will be banned, the supporter of the ban is the Greenpeace organization.

The bull fight takes place in three stages. First, the bandilleros enters the arena - this is a man who plunges darts (banderillas) into the bull's neck in order to anger and make the performance spectacular. Bandilleros darts are 70-80 centimeters long and are decorated with brightly colored paper. Then the picadors enter the arena - these are riders on horses with lances, which anger the bull even more, piercing the scruff of the animal a little.

The war horse of the picador is covered with a special suit so that the angry bull cannot pierce it with its horns, and the horns of the bull reach from 25-40 centimeters. The picador must test the bull's reaction to pain after several penetrations into the body, after the bloodletting, the bull becomes aggressive.

Only after that, a bullfighter with a muleta (red cloth) appears in the arena to tease the bull and test his natural inclinations of the animal. At the climax of the events, a matador enters the arena showing skillful use of a mulet and a sword (estoke), the matador's task is to “ignite” the audience and show the absence of fear of death, which awaits him in any wrong action. At the end of the performance, the matador kills the emaciated bull with one blow of the sword, piercing the scruff of the neck between the 3rd and 4th vertebra of the bull, this is the most vulnerable spot. After defeating the bull, the bullfighter receives a bull's ears or a bull's tail as a gift.

The presentation of bullfighting will cause mixed feelings in you, firstly, you will not be able to watch how a poor animal is being killed for a very long time, and secondly, you will admire a man whose courage to fight a bull knows no bounds. At the end of the battle, everyone starts clapping and demanding that the bullfighter be awarded, which means that everyone liked the battle.

So, traveling around the city, we noted the sociability of the Spanish people and their patriotism, they respect their football team very much. Also, Barcelona people are very fond of animals, which served as the closure of the bullfight, they are very fond of their city and are always friendly to tourists. The journey for the website travel-picture.ru in the city of Barcelona is coming to an end, but for tourists planning a vacation, it is just beginning.
