Well, now it's mid-July, tourists on Lake Baikal have increased and almost all the shores of Lake Baikal are occupied with tents, in this article I will tell you a little about strawberries on Lake Baikal and I will show you Victoria's photos taken recently during my next trip to the city of Baikalsk on business related to tourism and this area.
Everyone who decided to visit Lake Baikal this summer and buy Victoria picks up whole buckets of berries from private traders, but few people know where you can buy it much cheaper. All private traders who stand along the road not only collect all the dust and gases from the highway, but also overestimate the cost by two or more times, I do not advise taking such a berry near the city of Baikalsk, although the road is the same and dirty everywhere.
The cheapest options for cost can be found in the area of the Babkha River, if you go to Baikalsk and have already passed Utulik, then the Babkha River will be in about 1-2 kilometers, I don’t remember the exact distance, but you will see a small area completely crowded with outbid cars, this will be the local name 'Babha', here the entire local population is bringing berries to be handed over to 'outbid'.
If you are interested in the further movement of the berry, then after the local population hands it over for a penny to 'outbidding' it goes towards Chita, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutia and other cities, where it is possible that it is being resold to another economic link, as a result of which the price for strawberries increases several times. You have the opportunity to buy strawberries on Lake Baikal not at an inflated price, but at the price for which they were originally sold.
For example, at the moment the cost for one pot (5 liters) of Victoria as of mid-July is 600 rubles. Then the seller takes her to Yakutia, where he sells the berry for 1200 rubles already and at the end point I'm already scared to think about the price, this data was told to me by one of the sellers from Chita, who has been doing this for more than a day.
In general, I deviated a little from the topic of strawberries on Lake Baikal and the question of buying berries cheaply. First of all, as soon as you are on Babkha, we are looking for people with full bowlers of strawberries who go towards Babkha, where all the 'perkups' are, you just need to quickly intercept such a person and buy a berry from him at the same cost, for which is accepted by 'outbid'.
As for the prices for strawberries, they differ from season to season, for example, in early July, as soon as the strawberries begin to ripen, the cost ranges from 800 to 1000 rubles, in the middle of the season the price drops to 400 rubles and at the end of the season the price can again go up to 1000 - 1200 rubles. It is worth noting that the price of a berry drops on a rainy day, since Victoria deteriorates very quickly and is not profitable to buy, so if you want to taste berries at the cheapest prices, then buy it there on a rainy day.
I told everything, it remains a little to show what I did, while I arranged a photo session for Victoria in the city.
Victoria's Photos
Of course, Victoria came across almost half the size of her palm, I don't remember what she calls her variety, although I remembered the Zinga-Zinga variety, but she did not have time to be photographed, everything was eaten before the photos were taken. In general, if you suddenly have questions about the berry, or as it is also called the Baikal strawberry, then we write in the comments, well, I will be very glad if you share this article on social networks with your friends.
