The Svir Gorge is, first of all, the beautiful Svir Waterfall, which flows down the undulating walls of the canyon in a narrow white ribbon. The route to it is nowhere easier, so I advise you to visit this pleasant place!

The Svir gorge is worth visiting only for the sake of the graceful Svir waterfall: a thin stream of water seems to descend from the ceiling of the cave and gently, without rattling or splashing water, flows into the lake. Very similar to the Saltinsky underground waterfall in Dagestan.

When there are no tourists in the canyon and near the waterfall, it becomes very quiet and peaceful. The measured noise of the waterfall, the rare croaking of frogs and drops of water from the arches bring light sadness. I would like to stay longer in this place. And you can sit more, because the rest of the route is not particularly interesting. 3.5 km downhill for a couple of waterfalls, some block of stone called Lunny, and a dilapidated dolmen - there are more interesting places in Big Sochi! Better to visit the Mamedovo gorge, the unique Volkonsky dolmen, the Psakho canyon, the Yew-boxwood grove, Agur waterfalls.

  • It is cool and humid by the waterfall, take a light jacket.
